Through regular participation in community welfare programmes
for health and education, the company has won the confidence
of its people. Alexandria Carbon Black has adopted four
orphanages (for food, clothes, medical and educational
expenses), a Mother Teresa House (for old age people)
and has donated facilities for one ICU unit be named
as "ACB Intensive Care Unit" at the local
children's cancer hospital.
Hi Tech Carbon
Hi Tech Carbon has initiated many
community development measures. The company, on a regular
basis, supplies study-material to rural schools, conducts
AIDS awareness workshops, imparts skill training to
members of self-help groups, and conducts typhoid and
Pulse Polio vaccination camps. Hi Tech Carbon has been
instrumental in building bus shelters in rural areas
as well as keeping children in schools by paying their
fees.

At Liaoning Birla Carbon, we regularly
work with neighbouring villages and communities to improve
health and education facilities in the area. Our executives
regularly participate in community events and are well
informed about local environmental needs and priorities.
Thai Carbon
Black
At Thai Carbon Black, we promote and participate in
local health, religious, sports, educational and cultural
events in the Angthong Province. We run an annual scholarship
programme for needy and deserving students and have
adopted an orphanage with 700 children at Wat Botvoradit
temple.
Thai Carbon Black has won the confidence
of the neighbouring community through regular interventions
in the form of: donation of stationery and sport appliances
to nearby schools; joint organisation of blood donation
camps and health check camps with local hospitals and;
donation of dry food, rice, drinking water, medicine,
etc. During the October 2006 floods in Angthong Thai
Carbon Black helped more than 2500 affected families
through its outreach programmes.
