Un objeto negro, dicho de manera sencilla, absorbe casi toda la luz procedente de la fuente de luz. No es posible obtener mediciones precisas y exactas de objetos muy negros de una manera muy directa.<\/p>\n<p>Antes de nada, se debe considerar la preparaci\u00f3n de la muestra, ya que a menudo es una gran fuente de variaci\u00f3n en el color percibido. Un revestimiento se debe aplicar o rociar cuidadosamente varias veces y normalmente debe ser claro. Una pastilla de pl\u00e1stico debe fabricarse con muy buen control sobre las condiciones de presi\u00f3n o de moldeado de inyecci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Un espectrofot\u00f3metro de laboratorio mide la intensidad de la luz como funci\u00f3n de la longitud de onda. La geometr\u00eda del sistema de medici\u00f3n puede variar. Tradicionalmente, se ha preferido las geometr\u00edas de medici\u00f3n directa como 0\/45 o 45\/0 para negros. Los sistemas directos multi\u00e1ngulo m\u00e1s nuevos tambi\u00e9n funcionan muy bien para los negros. La ventaja de estos sistemas de medici\u00f3n directa es que se ven mucho menos afectados por los cambios de brillo en comparaci\u00f3n con las geometr\u00edas esf\u00e9ricas usadas rutinariamente para mediciones de colores no negros. Si se usa una geometr\u00eda esf\u00e9rica, debe tener buenas trampas especulares y se debe ejecutar en modo Especular excluido para conseguir resultados comparables a una medici\u00f3n directa. Como apunte regional, en China es habitual medir negros con Especular incluido, y la reflectancia es mucho mayor que en otras partes.<\/p>\n<p>La fuente de luz debe ser de alta calidad, lo que con los instrumentos modernos se da por sentado, pero el programa debe tener en cuenta cualquier variaci\u00f3n de intensidad a lo largo de la prueba. En general, Birla Carbon ha preferido los instrumentos con flash Xenon que generalmente tienen una vida \u00fatil de m\u00e1s de un mill\u00f3n de mediciones. Habitualmente una placa de verificaci\u00f3n est\u00e1ndar es inadecuada para comprobar el rendimiento fiable de los negros, y adoptar una segunda placa de verificaci\u00f3n de alg\u00fan tipo de reflectividad mucho menor es una buena pr\u00e1ctica.<\/p>\n<p>La resoluci\u00f3n fotom\u00e9trica es probablemente el mayor factor para conseguir datos buenos y \u00fatiles de un instrumento de color. Generalmente, una resoluci\u00f3n de 0,01 % es m\u00e1s barata, pero muy inferior en comparaci\u00f3n con la lectura de negro intenso a una resoluci\u00f3n de 0,001 %. Un revestimiento automotriz moderno de cualquier fabricante pondr\u00e1 en riesgo ver los artefactos de cuantificaci\u00f3n con un detector de 0,01 %, ya que sale muy poca luz del objeto. He visto curvas de reflectancia que parecen funciones de ondas cuadradas a medida que la reflectancia cambia desde encima del umbral de detecci\u00f3n a debajo de \u00e9l.
