Enriching Lives by Empowering Women A Birla Carbon India (Patalganga) Initiative
On March 7, 2026, Birla Carbon India’s Patalganga unit celebrated a special event that engaged and honored the women from the local communities who are driving change within their own domains. The event brought together women leaders from diverse backgrounds – health, education, social development, and local governance – who have been contributing meaningfully within their fields of expertise. This event was in line with International Women’s Day, that is celebrated globally on March 8.
Celebrating skills, strength, and self-reliance
Under the sustainable livelihood pillar, the CSR team at Patalganga organized vocational training programs for rural women. A total of 120 women successfully completed trainings in:
- Tailoring
- Embroidery (Ari work)
- Make-up and beautician skills
All participants were felicitated by the senior management team in recognition of their dedication and progress towards self-reliance.
Dignitaries and special guests
The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, led by:
- A Gynecologist from a hospital nearby
- A yoga specialist
- An educationalist
- A member of the local government body
The Unit Head, Birla Carbon Patalganga delivered the welcome address, where he highlighted the importance of women empowerment. “The Aditya Birla Group and Birla Carbon have always promoted and supported women empowerment within the communities in which we operate. At the Patalganga unit, we strongly focus on uplifting and maintaining the health and hygiene of women within the local communities. All our CSR efforts contribute meaningfully towards improving the overall well-being of the community as well.”
He also shared updates on the newly launched multispecialty OPD facility, offering free consultation from gynecologists, pediatricians, dermatologists, orthopedic specialists, eye specialists, and dental surgeons, at the Government Primary Care Center.
Health and wellness sessions
Dr. Parul Sathe shared the importance of early detection of diseases, conducting regular health checkups, and adopting healthy routines for women. She also highlighted how women play a pivotal role in ensuring the overall health and well-being of their families.
Dr. Swaranjali Gaikwad shared simple and practical yoga techniques that can be easily incorporated into daily life to manage stress effectively and improve overall well‑being.
Community participation
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 200 women from the surrounding villages, along with the presence of Birla Carbon Patalganga’s senior management team. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the HR Head, Birla Carbon Patalganga, where he expressed gratitude to the guests, community participants, and the CSR team for making the event impactful.
