Birla Carbon Canada sponsors Ronald McDonald House® for families attending to children’s health at the nearby hospital
On April 9, 2026, Birla Carbon Hamilton (Canada) sponsored the Ronald McDonald House® South Central Ontario, that provides a vital ‘home away from home’ for families whose children receive hospital treatment, thus helping them stay together during stressful and uncertain times.
The Hamilton House, opened in 1993, is close to the McMaster Children’s Hospital and supports families across the region with private guest rooms and shared amenities, designed to reduce daily burden and provide moments of respite. Notable spaces include a family-friendly games room with a pool table, ping pong, retro gaming, a PS5 and a Nintendo Switch; and a spa-like wellness room where caregivers can de-stress using massage chairs and relaxation activities.
The Ronald McDonald House also extends support within the McMaster Children’s Hospital through family rooms and care carts, providing comfort, refreshments, and essentials for families who can’t leave their child’s bedside. Although McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada is the founding partner and funds approximately 30% of annual operating costs through programs like McHappy Day and other in‑restaurant initiatives, the House must raise the remaining 70% through fundraising, individual donors, and corporate partners without any government funding.
Birla Carbon Canada is doing its bit to provide for these families during difficult times by supporting their stay at the local Ronald McDonald House.
