Chief Manufacturing Excellence Officer

Dale Clark is Chief Manufacturing Excellence Officer, Birla Carbon, and is based at the Company’s headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. In this role, Dale is responsible globally for Sustainability, Safety, Health & Environment, Engineering, Quality and Operational Excellence in Birla Carbon’s manufacturing process.

Dale joined the Carbon Black business in 2005 as the Unit Head of the Marshall Facility in West Virginia, USA. In 2009, he assumed responsibility as the Director of Manufacturing for the Specialty Blacks Business.

Dale subsequently assumed a senior leadership position in the Process Technology Group, which included Development, Manufacturing, Technical Services and Engineering. In 2014, he was appointed Chief Technology Officer and continued in this role until the appointment of Chief Manufacturing Officer, Americas and EMEA in July 2020.

Dale has over 39 years of experience in the carbon black manufacturing and technology industry. Prior to joining Birla Carbon, he held positions of increasing responsibility at Cabot Corporation.

Dale holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
