Shashank Awasthi is President, Specialty Materials at Birla Carbon. In his role, Shashank leads the global business portfolio for Specialty Carbon Blacks and Nanocyl™ MWCNTs, serving high-growth applications across plastics, coatings, energy systems, and other non-rubber markets.

With nearly 35 years of experience at the Aditya Birla Group, Shashank has built a distinguished career as a commercial leader, bringing extensive cross-sector experience across carbon black, cement (white and grey), and financial services.

His expertise spans sales and marketing, brand building, strategy, logistics, and key account management across international markets.

Shashank has been the recipient of the Chairman’s Awards for Individual Excellence (Young Achiever) and Accomplished Leader (2022), reflecting his track record of delivering sustained business impact and leading in complex, multi-business environments.

He holds an MBA in Marketing from the University of Jodhpur, India.
