In May 2026, Birla Carbon Italy (BCI) became one of the founding members of the AKADEMIA HUB in Novara, Trecate, together with five other companies in the region. The hub is aimed at a project dedicated to specialized technical training, created to meet the professional needs of businesses, contributing to the development, and strengthening the skills of the locals.

In the current context that is characterized by significant industrial investments and a growing demand for qualified technical professionals, the AKADEMIA HUB represents a strategic lever for the growth of the production system in the territory. The project is the result of a synergy between the employer’s association, leading companies, and local institutions.

Speaking about this association, the Plant Head, Birla Carbon Italy said, “As a business, we aim to collaborate with institutions that provide locals with specialized technical trainings which address the professional needs of businesses in the close vicinity. Through a shared approach, the AKADEMIA HUB adopts the ‘school-factory’ model, integrating theoretical training and practical experiences.

In the initial phase, the programs will focus on training professionals in the sectors of Mechatronics; Microelectronics; Chemicals and Food technology. The participating companies, through this hub, will have priority access to a pool of qualified talent and a range of benefits, including –

• Support in seeking training funding
• Use of training spaces and laboratories
• The opportunity to nominate instructors and participate in selection processes

All while actively contributing to the construction of an integrated, innovative, and future-oriented training system.

The first set of training courses commenced in June 2026 and was dedicated to AI.
