Birla Carbon Spain (BCS) has been actively collaborating with the sustainability program of the Marina de Cudeyo school and is also a partner of the Valley of Inventions Museum. In February 2026, BCS sponsored and funded the visit of 79 students of the Marina de Cudeyo school, to take a tour of the Valley of Inventions Museum, located inside the Leonardo Torres Quevedo school, and learn about the legacy of Leonardo Torres Quevedo. During their visit (through two batches), the students took part in an experience designed to spark their interest in science, innovation, and creativity.

This initiative brought both – Marina de Cudeyo school and the museum into contact with each other where BCS convinced them that valuable synergies could arise in the

future as well. Both CEIP Marina de Cudeyo and the Leonardo Torres Quevedo School in Arenas de Iguña, where the museum is located, are now considering launching a joint project between the two schools.

Some of the most promising ideas being explored include:

• Bringing activities and educational content from the LTQ Museum (Valley of Inventions) to CEIP Marina de Cudeyo, making Leonardo’s legacy accessible directly in their classrooms
• Transferring the experiences of the sustainability classroom from CEIP Marina de Cudeyo to the Leonardo Torres Quevedo School in Arenas de Iguña, creating a bridge between innovation and sustainability that benefits both
• The museum, and the Leonardo Torres Quevedo School, will temporarily loan part of its exhibition to the Marina de Cudeyo School
• Exploring synergies that allow both schools to share learnings, methodologies, and community‑impact initiatives.

This development demonstrates how BCS’ connections with the community transform and multiply thus creating networks of collaboration that enrich students, teaching teams, and families.
