In partnership with the Camaçari Industrial Development Committee (COFIC), the Camaçari unit participated in the Building the Future program, at the Professora Anfrísia Santiago Municipal School. The Quality Coordinator; Operator; and the HR Analyst; all shared their experiences and highlighted the importance of technical education for the training and inclusion of young people into the employment market of the region. Close to 30 students participated in this moment of exchange.

Additionally, the unit also received 11 students from chemistry department of the CETTPS school during their Open Doors visit. The students gained knowledge about carbon black production, safety and sustainability practices at the unit, and learnt more about carbon black and its applications.

The meeting was led by the SSOMA Supervisor (SSOMA is Environment, Health & Safety in Brazil); and the HR analyst who presented Birla Carbon and shared information about the products we make and our sustainability initiatives. This event was attended by 26 students.

From the Cubatão plant, an important employer branding initiative was carried out at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP), with the participation of more than 25 students from the Environmental Engineering course. The lecture was presented by the Junior HR Analyst; the Process Engineer; the Process Laboratory Assistant; where they shared the history of Birla Carbon, highlighting the importance of carbon black, in addition to presenting details of our production process and the quality of our products.

They also reinforced the unit’s internship and trainee programs, addressing the forms of participation and encouraging students to learn more about the opportunities offered by Birla Carbon.

The focus on education initiatives and sharing of experiences is a key tool in inspiring younger students to build careers in science and technology. Birla Carbon Brazil will stay committed to the training needs and development of the communities where it operates.
