Birla Carbon Canada donates essential supplies for the new academic year for children in the communities

Birla Carbon Canada’s Hamilton unit assisted the Hamilton Child and Family Supports (formerly known as the Children’s Aid Society) with their ‘Back-To-School Drive’. The HCFS is a not-for-profit charitable organization that focuses on the well-being and protection of children. It is one of 47 agencies across Ontario, and works together with parents, extended families, community professionals, and other members of the community, to reduce harmful circumstances and address major areas of concern in the locality.

Sharing his thoughts about this initiative, the unit General Manager, Birla Carbon Canada (Hamilton) said, “The Hamilton plant is proud to continue its support to HCFS and the children in need. This is how we wish to continue living our purpose and Share the Strength with the communities close to us. Every backpack we give provides a ray of hope and opportunity to the children as they step into a new year at their school. Together, we look forward to helping more students begin their academic year with confidence and joy. I would like to thank the entire team that made this event successful.”

This year, the Hamilton team put together a large donation of 50 backpacks with the Birla Carbon logo, that included lunch bags, pencil cases, reuseable water bottles and other items, to help children and the young students start the new September 2025 school year with a little more ease. One of the highlights was that this year they were able to double their donation from the 24 bags that were provided in 2024.
