Birla Carbon to Showcase Next-Generation Carbon Black Solutions at RubberTech 2025

Shanghai, China – September 15, 2025, Birla Carbon, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of high-quality carbon-based solutions, will participate in RubberTech 2025 from September 17–19, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Shanghai, China. The company will exhibit at Booth No. W5B467, highlighting its comprehensive range of advanced carbon black solutions for the global rubber and tire industries, with a special focus on BC1060 carbon black grade, making its debut at RubberTech.

Speaking about the company’s participation, John Davidson, Chief Sales, Marketing & Sustainability Officer, Birla Carbon, said, “RubberTech 2025 provides a key forum for Birla Carbon to demonstrate the future of carbon black innovation in tires and a wide range of mechanical rubber goods applications. With the introduction of BC1060, we are delivering solutions that not only enhance performance across automotive and industrial sectors but also align with the industry’s shift toward sustainability, efficiency, and circularity.” He further added, “Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing markets for mobility and infrastructure, making it a vital focus for our innovation pipeline. At the same time, our long-term commitment to sustainability is anchored in our 4R net zero strategy – Research, Reduce, Replace, and Repurpose – which drives our approach to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.”

BC1060 – Versatility and Durability for Rubber Goods

BC1060 carbon blacks deliver the reinforcement signature of a thermal black – low hysteresis and low stiffness, while incorporating the strength and durability of an N700 series carbon black. It is particularly effective in anti-vibration mount systems and sealing components, ensuring superior performance and longer product lifespan.

Other carbon black solutions at RubberTech

Birla Carbon will also present its extensive portfolio of carbon black solutions optimized for demanding tire and mechanical rubber goods applications. To highlight a few.

BC2123 carbon blacks are engineered for next-generation automotive components, such as suspension bushings, control arms, shock mounts, and leaf spring bushings, delivering substantial improvements in fatigue life, enhanced thermal stability with reduced heat build-up, and significantly lower spring rates (Kd/Ks) to support both comfort and durability in advanced mobility solutions.

Birla Carbon will also showcase BC2421, a specialty grade carbon black designed for conveyor belt cover compounds, offering an excellent balance between wear resistance and reduced hysteresis, improving energy efficiency while extending belt life.

Sustainability is at the heart of Birla Carbon’s growth strategy. At RubberTech 2025, the company will highlight its Continua™ Sustainable Carbonaceous Materials (SCM) – a first-of-its-kind solution developed at scale to enhance product sustainability and circularity across industries.

Key attributes of Continua™ include:

  • Higher recycled content without compromising performance.
  • Consistent quality with regulatory compliance.
  • Lower homologation costs for OEMs.
  • Blending possibilities for tailored, optimized solutions.
  • Supply security with large-scale volumes and additional functional benefits
