Global Head – Legal and Communications

Dr. Kevin Hathcock is the Global Head, Legal and Communications at Birla Carbon. Dr. Hathcock is based at the Company headquarters in Marietta, Georgia, USA.

Dr. Hathcock joined erstwhile Columbian Chemicals Company, in the carbon black business in 1997 as a Research Chemist, where he held various positions of increasing responsibility within the Research & Development and Legal functions.

Prior to rejoining Birla Carbon in 2019 as Deputy General Counsel, Intellectual Property, Dr. Hathcock was a partner at Ballard Spahr LLP, where he represented a number of universities and chemical companies, on intellectual property, litigation, transactional, and merger and acquisition matters. He has over 27 years of combined experience with Birla Carbon as an employee and as an outside counsel.

Dr. Hathcock earned his Juris Doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law, and has a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Berry College. Dr. Hathcock is a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
