Birla Carbon expands cleaner products production capabilities in India

Mumbai, India – August 04, 2021 – Birla Carbon, a leading global manufacturer, and supplier of carbon black, announced the large-scale availability of clean carbon black products in India by expanding its production capacity at the Gummidipoondi plant. The newly introduced production line will make available globally approved cleaner products in India.

The clean carbon black products built on Birla Cabon’s in-house developed technologies, now produced in India, will deliver high quality and consistent performance. Some of those products include; BC1031, BC1034, and other clean products from the portfolio for application in class A profiles, inner liners, dynamic application, and thin walled injection molded parts.

The technology has been developed to give clean products with low residue for maximum screen life and surface appearance along with balanced pellet properties for ease of conveying, mixing, and curing.

The Birla Carbon products from the new production line will deliver many processing improvements for customers, including faster incorporation, long screen life, low viscosity, and easy extrusion. Final products will benefit from higher jetness and gloss as well as a smooth finish for a better surface appearance.

The added capacity is Birla Carbon’s latest investment to bring consistent, high-quality carbon black products to customers wherever and whenever they are needed.
