Today ‘s consumer is no longer content to know only what a company sells; they are also concerned with the policies and practices that the company holds with regards to prominent social and environmental issues. Stakeholders of all kinds are increasingly demanding greater transparency and accountability from companies in these aspects. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in one of the management strategies that companies implement in order create a positive impact on the society and in turn, sustaining their business.
Birla Carbon Thailand (BCT) has always been committed to improving the communities in which we operate. We believe CSR starts internally. If employees are treated well, they go on to become ‘ambassadors’ of the company in the surrounding communities. To expand our overall external responsibility, means the following for BCT –
- Continue to offer high quality products and solutions to our customers.
- Not pollute the environment.
- CSR practices including employee training and awareness on environment, effective communication (line groups and daily meetings), activities to minimize the risk of failure (i.e., daily community survey and adoption of check sheets);
- Participation in community gatherings and initiatives.
